Cleaning Oriental Rugs

I am cleaning my oriental rugs, any suggestions/hints so that I don't damage them.

ANSWER:  First recommendation would be to check any labels that are on your rug for care or cleaning instructions. If the label states to have it dry cleaned only, please do not use the BISSELL water based products to clean. If the label reads it is okay to clean with water based products, the BISSELL cleaning products should be okay with your rug.

Another recommendation would be to try an inconspicuous area to check for bleeding of the colors in your carpet. If this doesn't happen, you should not have that problem with the rest of the rug.

A final recommendation would be to expedite the drying process after cleaning. You can do so by opening windows, turning on ceiling fans, or using a floor fan.
